CBS-SIMI Executive was formed as a result of the merger between the executive wing of Copenhagen Business School and Scandinavian International Management Institute –two long standing providers of executive education within the Nordic region.
Copenhagen Business School (CBS) was founded in 1917 to meet the business sector’s demand for highly qualified people, and today it is the leading business school in Northern Europe. CBS offers a comprehensive range of programs in business, economics and modern languages for international business communication on bachelor’s, master’s and PhD level.
Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI) was founded in 1991 to supplement what was then perceived as traditional academic master programs in business administration offered in the region.
Late in 2009 the Board of Copenhagen Business School and the Board of Trustees of SIMI decided to merge their international executive education into a new entity called CBS-SIMI Executive. By merging the executive programs of CBS and SIMI we have established an organization that offers state of the art executive education at an international level. The focus of CBS-SIMI Executive is entirely executive education and by merging the best of CBS Executive and SIMI we have established a stronger environment for delivering executive education. We recruit top, internationally renowned faculty from both own ranks and leading Scandinavian, European, Asian and North American business schools.
Combined, we have a backbone of more than 20 years experience in the world of research based executive education and leadership development, working in close collaboration with leading faculty, companies and individuals to meet their personal and professional needs.
CBS SIMI Executive offers a diverse portfolio of state-of-the-art international programs as well as shorter, modular executive education and development initiatives. Over the years we have inspired over 6000 participants from the executive business world representing corporations in the Nordic region and worldwide. Across our Industry Diploma and open programs, customized programs and business strategy programs we connect our network across individuals, industries and organizations to transform people and their organizations.
CBS-SIMI Executive is located in the former Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory, in the old raw material building, Råvarebygningen, which was recently restored by the Danish architect Henning Larsen and is especially designed for executive education. The building is situated adjacent to the historic and beautiful Frederiksberg Garden.
